Winners of Best Group at the 2025 Aotearoa (New Zealand) Music Awards, Berlin based, New Zealand heavy psych rock duo Earth Tongue - guitarist Gussie Larkin and drummer Ezra Simons – recently released their third album Dungeon Vision on Los Angeles' esteemed In The Red Records label. The album was produced by contemporary garage-rock luminary Ty Segall, and debuted at number 2 in the New Zealand Album Charts.

The duo, which is originally from Wellington, is set to play King Gizzard's Field of Vision festival in Colorado in August 2026 alongside Folk Bitch Trio, Blood Incantation and King Gizzard themselves, as well as Levitation festival in Austin, TX alongside Angine de Poitrine.
They have previously toured with Hällas, Ty Segall, The Scientists, Queens of the Stone Age, and performed at Dark Mofo.
Known for their mind altering, cult-like live performances, Earth Tongue won their 2025 Best Group award - along with a nomination for the prestigious 2025 Taite Music Prize - on the back of their first album for In The Red, 'Great Haunting' (and second overall).
Ushering in a new era, Earth Tongue lower the castle gates on their third album 'Dungeon Vision', a trove of fuzz-drenched anthems produced by Ty Segall in Los Angeles.
Tracked live to tape, 'Dungeon Vision’ pulses with human energy, fuzz guitars, bone-battering drums, and hauntingly tuneful vocals. Ty Segall’s influence is all over the record with Ty choosing the best takes based on feel rather than technical perfection. It’s a deliberate departure from modern studio gloss. “It’s the same way they made albums in 1970,” Ezra adds. The result carries a palpable urgency, sweat, adrenaline and instinct embedded in the performances pushing Earth Tongue into new creative territory while preserving the kinetic intensity of their sound.
Fuzz obsessor and garage rock hero Segall pushed the duo to find new sonic textures while championing their raw chemistry.
“Ty’s been a big driving force,” says Ezra. “We supported him in New Zealand back in 2023, and he’s backed us ever since even bringing us on tour through Europe and the UK in 2024.”
Since the release of their first album 'Floating Being' in 2019, Earth Tongue have hit the road time and time again, sharing stages with the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, IDLES, Acid King, Brant Bjork and Kikagaku Moyo. Anyone who’s been to an Earth Tongue show knows their mind-expanding power. Since moving to Europe, the band has focussed on playing live, performing to new crowds. “We’re doubling down on what we were already doing” says Gussie. “Being able to play so much has given us a lot more confidence. Seeing the response from new audiences has been really reassuring – that we can keep it unique and weird”.
